The ‘Succeed Online’ series will help SMEs make better use of the internet

In an effort to help Nigerian small and medium business owners, Google Nigeria has announced the commencement of the ‘Succeed Online’ training series, which is geared towards helping SMEs  reach their business goals by making better use of the internet.

The marketing manager for Small and Medium Enterprises products at Google Nigeria, Bunmi Banjo, said that the aim of the Succeed Online training is to educate Small and Medium business owners on fundamental information that would help project their presence online.

Given that a website provides a business the platform to showcase their goods and services, they can also benefit from a comprehensive online presence which include goods use of social media, listing, blogs and so on. These tools, Google said, are available free of charge.

The Succeed Online training will also help business owners understand how to manage different range of internet tools that can take their businesses to the next level.

This initiative is a part of the Get Nigerian Businesses Online programme (GNBO), launched in September 2011, which has so far enabled over 25,000 SMEs in Nigeria to build their own websites for free.

The GNBO programme is a joint initiative of Google and partners such as Ecobank to help SMEs create their first websites and make the most of the opportunities offered by the Internet.

While these sessions are currently offered to GNBO website owners only, many tips and tricks on improving websites and building an effective presence on the Internet can be found by doing a simple google search.
