The Ghana Oil Company Limited (GOIL), the nation’s foremost indigenous oil marketing company, has saluted Ghanaian workers for their significant contribution to the growth of the nation’s economy.

It applauded them for their hard work and resilience and asked that they continued to show high sense of patriotism.

They should accept to put the nation ahead of individual comfort and convenience.

Mr. Patrick Kwame Akpe Akorli, GOIL Group Chief Executive, in a message said; “As we mark the May Day, we must also reflect on our individual contribution towards nation building.”

He spoke of the company’s believe in the potential of the indigenous Ghanaian companies and underlined its determination to continue to showcase the ability of local entrepreneurs to contribute to the building of this nation.

“Ghanaians should also reciprocate and support local companies by patronizing our products and services.

“This is the only way we can empower local companies to meet the competition being offered by the multinationals.

“Ghanaians must take firm control of the economy. And I challenge local leaders to exhibit high sense of patriotism and commit to building Ghana”.

Mr. Akorli, who is also known as Togbe Adza-Nye IV, Dutorfia of Ziavi in the Volta Region, said while celebrating the achievements of workers over the years, “we must also do away with negative attitude and actions that would work against our collective interest as a nation”.
