George Ayamba, a gardener, and Lord Adufu, a mason, have been fined GHc300 each for stealing a Nanny goat or in default spend two years in prison respectively.

They pleaded guilty for stealing, unlawful entry and conspiracy to commit crime therefore the court asked them to pay GHc250 to the owner of the goat.

Prosecuting, Inspector Osumani Biney, told the court, presided over by Mr Charles Bamfo Nimako that the complainant, Kwesi Essel, a resident of Kwesimintsim Zongo detected the theft of 25 goats from his animal pen and all efforts to apprehend the culprits failed.

Inspector Biney said on February 29 last month, Essel detected another Nanny goat missing from the pen even though he locked the animal in the pen before going to bed the previous night.

Upon investigations, the complainant had information that the convicts stole the goat and lodged a report with the police leading to the arrest of Ayamga.

Prosecution said Ayamga admitted the offence in his caution statement and mentioned Adufu as his accomplice.

The prosecutor said Ayamga then led the police to arrest Adufu and both convicts were arraigned and prosecuted. GNA
