Fatawu Dauda says patience pays off

By Patrick Akoto

Goalkeeper Fatawu Dauda has hailed his retun to the national team after a four-year absence.

The Ashantigold glovesman has been rewarded for his fine display for the miners last season by being handed a recall-into the national since 2008.

The 27-year-old is thrilled with his return to the Black Stars fold and says patience has played a key role in that regard.

?When it comes to the national team, it is all about patience. We have a lot of players in the country and in the system,? Dauda told Radio XYZ

?We cannot all be invited into the national team. It?s all about time and an opportunity,?

?When I heard the news, I was very happy. The only thing left for me is to go out there and prove myself so that I can have the chance to play anytime they call me,?

?It is not just about getting an invite; you have to prove because the technical team and the management have some confidence in me that is why they invited me. Don?t forget I am not the only goalkeeper in the country.?

The former Okwahu United shot-stopper was on the roster for the African Cup of Nations 2008, as the third keeper.
