Go for gold, GOC tells Commonwealth athletes

Mr Ben Nunoo Mensah, President of the Ghana Olympics Committee (GOC) has urged Ghana’s Athletes team to put up a good performance in the upcoming Commonwealth Youth games in Bahamas.

At a press conference on Wednesday at the GOC office, he untreated the athletes to make Ghana proud and a reason to continue supporting them.

” I charge you to be worthy representatives of Ghana. Dare and push yourselves to the limit.  Let the world notice and remember you for the great impact you made at Bahamas 2017.

“Leave indelible impressions on the minds of the people of Bahamas. Etch yourselves in the memories of millions of people who would be watching you perform.

“You are leaving as athletes, come back as champions. Give Ghana medals at the championship,” he said.

Team Ghana will leave the shores of Ghana on Saturday, July 15th.

The twelve athletes and their events are; Emmanuel Nyan Plange (Swimming), Rafiatu Nuhu (Athletics), Kelvin Katey Carboo (Beach Volley), Eric Atsu (Beach Volley), Marian Ibrahim (Tenni), Abeku Jackson (Swimming).

The rest are, Kaya Adwoa Forson-  Swimming, Solomon Tagoe-Cycling,
Gabriel Tettey-Cycling, Alfred Kotey- Boxing, Philip Quartey-Boxing and
Emmanuel Kemavor-Judo.

The team will leave Ghana for the Bahamas on Saturday July 15.
