He has therefore pledged to replicate the activities at the Agency’s headquarters in Accra in the Region as part of its re-branding efforts.


“We shall convert some of the Agency’s offices in Takoradi into multi-purpose facility so that we can run Journalism and Communication short courses for young people and award them certificates,” he stated.

Dr Otabil, who made this known at a staff meeting in Takoradi, urged the personnel to give off their best.

Although he affirmed his decision to resign from the Agency and take new appointment, he gave the assurance that his new position would enable him to support the Agency in various aspects.

He expressed optimism that his successor would implement the good works he had started in order to enhance the Agency’s productivity and relevance on the media landscape.

The out-going Regional Manager, Mrs Felicia Yeboah-Akpoh, expressed appreciation to the management and staff for their support and co-operation.

She asked for more logistical support and motivation in order to enhance staff performance.

The Agency, the country’s only news wire service was established by Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah, the first President in 1957, providing credible news stories and feature articles to its subscribers both home and abroad.
