President John Dramani Mahama of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has won the Wa Central Constituency with 32,664 votes.

Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) polled 22107 votes and Dr Papa Kwesi Nduom of the Progressive People’s Party obtained 1466 votes.

Dr Edward Nasigrie Mahama of the People’s National Convention (PNC) received 151 votes, Mr Ivor Kobina Greenstreet of the Convention People’s Party (CPP) obtained 139 votes while Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings of the National Democratic Party (NDP) polled 56 votes with Mr Jacob Osei Yeboah scoring 27 votes.

Dr Abdul Rashid Pelpuo, the incumbent Member of Parliament for the Wa Central Constituency, retained the seat with 25319 votes.

Mr Tahiru Issahaku of the NPP polled 24748 votes, Mr James Sohimwineye of the PPP obtained 5894 votes and Mr Issahaque Suleman of the CPP received 375 votes.

Mr Seidu Sadiq of NDP registered 183 votes and Mr Kuuyine Edgard of the Great Consolidated People’s Party polled 96 votes.

At the Daffiama-Bussie-Issa Constituency, President John Mahana won in the Presidential election with 8991 votes and Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo obtaining 3959 votes.

Dr Papa Kwesi Nduom received 117 votes, Dr Edward Mahama garnered 78 votes, Mr Ivor Kobina Greenstreet – 48 votes, Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings -26 votes and Mr Jacob Osei Yeboah, an independent candidate – 19 votes.
