The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has organised a peace walk throught some principal streets of Accra in commemoration of three months of the demise of the late president John Evans Atta Mills.

The walk was also organised to create awareness about the importance of ensuring a peacefull elections.

Speaking to the teaming supporters and others from other political divide who took part in the exercise, the Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the NDC, Mr. Adey Coker mentioned that it is imperative for all political parties to smoke the peace pipe and educate their supporters against acts that will not augur well for the development of the nation.

According to him, tlks such as ?all-die-be-die,? ?Ghana becoming Afghanistan,? are things that can spark fire if care is not taken and as such, must be condemned in no uncertain terms.

He also reiterated the NDC flagbearer and President?s commitment to peacefull elections by saying that in respecting the memory of the late president who was noted and remembered for his sober and peacefull nature President Mahama is also willing to tow the same path as his predecessor and mentor.

On his part, the National Youth Organiser of the NDC, Ludwig Hlordze also called on the people of Ghana to see throuth the developmental projects being undertaken by the NDC government and give it another chance to complete the Agenda.

Ludwig Hlordze averred that the duty of the NDC is to serve Ghana and not to divide it, and that the leadership of the party is putting all in place to ensure free, fair and transparent elections. He called on electoerates to vote massively for the NDC.

Yaw Ampofo Ankrah, one of the leading members of the organisers of the walk, also added his voice to the call on all to ensure peacefull elections. He mentioned that the incumbent NDC government deserves another term in office to continue the vision late president Mills had for the people of Ghana and that the time has come for Ghanaians to be able to read into the lies and deceit from some other political parties and vote wisely and make inform choices as far as parliamentary elections are also concern.

He added that the youth plays a very important role in maintaing peace, therefore, the youth must take it upon themselves to be ambassadors of peace now, during and after the elections, expressing hope that the NDC led by Johm Mahama will win the coming elections.
