Ghanaian President Nana Akufo-Addo on Sunday removed three high court judges from the bench for bribery and corruption, the presidency said in a release.

Justices Ayisi Addo, Uuter Paul Dery and Mustapha Logoh were dismissed after an investigative committee recommended their removal.

The committee was set up by Chief Justice Sophia Akuffo following a complaint lodged against them by investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas.

According to the release, the committee concluded that the conduct of the judges amounted to a criminal offense under the Criminal Act of the country.

The Ghanaian president has directed that a copy of the committee’s report be submitted to the criminal investigative department of the Ghana Police Service for the requisite action to be taken,

The three are among 22 high court and lower court judges implicated in the judicial corruption scandal that hit the country three years ago. Enditem
