Abaidoo Abednego has been named Board Member and Regional Director for Ghana at the International Federation of Football Agents (IFFA), marking the first Ghanaian appointment to this global body.

The football intermediary and sports journalist assumes the role immediately.

In a statement on his Facebook page, Abednego acknowledged the significance of the position: “I’m humbled and honored to share that I have been appointed as a Board Member and Regional Director for Ghana at IFFA – International Federation of Football Agents.”

He emphasized his commitment to representing national interests, adding: “This opportunity is both a privilege and a responsibility… I look forward to working with a dynamic team to further the mission and values of IFFA while also ensuring that Ghanaian interests are well represented.”

Abednego brings over a decade of sports journalism experience from Spice 91.9 FM (Focus One Media) and holds a 2024 FIFA intermediary certification. He currently represents West Africa’s GFarok Sports Agency. His new responsibilities include policy formulation and advocacy for agents across Ghana and West Africa.

The Switzerland-based IFFA unites licensed football agents worldwide, promoting ethical conduct and agent rights while collaborating with governing bodies on regulatory matters. Industry observers note this appointment strengthens Ghana’s voice in international football governance discussions.
