Atta Aboagye, Manager of popular Kumawood actor Agya Koo has dispelled claims that the stage play acted by the Kumawood stars during [email protected] independence day celebration was characterised by insults.

He described the stage play as a good one which needs to be commended saying there was no point the actors/actresses spewed out venom.

Mr Aboagye explained that the actors encountered sound challenges, yet they were able to deliver as they always do in their movies.

A section of the public have criticised the stage play on ‘girl child education’ acted by the Kumawood stars including Agya Koo, Akrobeto, Maame Serwaa, Mary Afia Forson and others describing it as substandard which had no merit.

But speaking on Abusua FM’s Entertainment hosted by Austine Wood, the manager of Agya Koo explained that the Kumawood stars selected to perform had little time to study the script.

Mr Aboagye said the actors/actresses were contracted by an agency he failed to mention its name adding that they were not paid for their services but their food and transportation bills from Kumasi to Accra were footed by the agency.

‘Everybody is entitled to his or her opinion, but there was no insults in the play, the only challenge we encountered was the sound, the sound was not clear so people could hardly hear them. This is the first time I am hearing that the play was freight with insults. I heard people raising issues about the performance but I never heard anyone complaining of insults,’ he explained.

The actor called on the public to pardon them if the actors/actresses erred in their delivery promising to offer them the best in future State events.
