The President of the Federation, Francis Adjetey Sowah of Ghana amputee, has revealed that he is in talks with the Ministry of youth and sport is to host the rest of the world in the 2014 amputee World Cup in the country.


Speaking on Happy FM a few days ago, he mentioned that  the ministry, after a successful hosting of the amputee Nations Cup have realized the Federation’s potential and the benefits hosting the rest of the world will offer the country, hence the hanker to stage the forthcoming competition.

“Hosting the rest of the world gives the host country some mileage, and the World easily associate with such countries. I see it as a big platform to tell the World what we  are capable of,” said Sowah.
“It will be the first time in Africa, having run for 60 years, and I see it as feasible,” he added.
Ghana hosted the last edition of the Cup of Nations For Amputee Football (CANAF) in 2011 and the Black Challenge, Ghana’s amputee soccer side lost to defending champions Liberia in the final on penalties.
Meanwhile, members of the losing finalists have threatened to embark on a demonstration on Monday to protest against their unpaid Nations Cup bonuses.
