The 2nd edition of Ghana Gas Forum (GGF 2013), a Ghanaian-led initiative which aims at bolstering policymaking for Ghana?s nascent natural gas industry, is to be held on 24th & 25th April 2013 at the M?venpick Ambassador Hotel in Accra, Ghana.

GGF 2013 will build on the successful deliberations that took place during the maiden edition in February 2012, among high-level Government representatives as well as decision-makers from existing and prospective multinational companies with interests in Ghana?s natural gas industry.

Following up from the maiden edition, participants will be brought up to speed with progress on Ghana?s infrastructure development for the natural gas industry.

In line with the theme ?Harnessing Ghana?s Gas Potential?, GGF 2013 will once again promote Ghana?s natural gas industry to a range of stakeholders and leverage on the expertise of leading energy professionals from the global industry. It will also encourage cross-fertilization of ideas between the Government of Ghana and a range of private sector players to gain critical input and analyze specific considerations in achieving the policy goal of sustainable gas market development.

Participants will address issues related to building a suitable commercial framework to support monetization of associated and non-associated gas resources including gas pricing, network coding and open access rules. Fiscal systems and market design of more mature gas producers will also be discussed while representatives of international oil and gas companies based in the sub-region will share perspectives on accelerating efforts to make Ghana a regional hub for spin-off industrial activities and value-added services.

GGF 2013 is endorsed and supported by the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Ghana, the Energy Commission, Ghana National Gas Company and the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation. The Chairperson for the forum is Dr. KwesiBotchwey, Chairman of Board of the Ghana National Gas Company.
