The first deputy speaker of parliament, Hon. Joe Osei Wusu, is in Burkina Fasso as the head of a seven member delegation to attend the opening of the Burkinabe Assembly on Wednesday the 27th of September, 2017.

The delegation was met on arrival by the president of the Assembly.
Discussions between the two, is focused on the bilateral relations between Ghana and Burkina Fasso, and as well as ways of improving power supply in the two countries.

As it stands now, Ghana depends on the Akosombo dam which produces only about 35% of power consumed in the country.

Ghana is currently depending mostly on thermal sources for energy supply, whereas Burkina Faso also imports its power from Côte d’Ivoire.
