It said the team which also includes Vice President, Kwesi Amissah-Arthur and all presidential advisors and staffers, ministers among others will review the strategies drawn for the implementation of the 2016 budget


“It will be an opportunity to review strategies for the implementation of key policies earmarked in the 2016 Budget and other initiatives outlined for outdooring in the State of the Nation Address,” the release added.

Although the release did not state where in the country the president and his team are, sources within government disclosed they were in the Volta Regional capital, Ho.

This year marks the last of the first four-year term of Mahama who assumed leadership in July 2012 when sitting president, John Evans Atta Mills passed away.

Mahama went on to win presidential election held subsequently in December that year, and was sworn into office in January 2013.

An eight-month long Supreme Court challenge to his victory by leaders of the largest opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) affected the performance f the country subsequently in major economic and investment fronts.

A crippling energy crisis which bedeviled the country since 2013 has been receding in recent weeks as there has not been major power outages since the yuletide season.

Mahama who is seeking re-election in the 2016 polls has also named Amissah-Arthur (Vice President) as his presidential running-mate for the second time. Enditem.
