Ghana PR Masterclass Merges AI, Data Skills for Industry Evolution

Global Media Alliance (GMA), in partnership with ALX Ghana and Women in PR Ghana (WiPR), hosted a groundbreaking masterclass titled “PR x AI x Data Analytics” during the World Public Relations Day Festival 2025.

The session held at ALX Hub in Accra drew over 60 professionals from academia, private, and public sectors, marking the festival’s first in-person event this year.

According to speakers, the convergence of artificial intelligence and data analytics is revolutionizing public relations. Williams Akakpo, Founder of Cure Technologies, demonstrated how data-driven insights enhance storytelling and campaign measurement. Rashida Musa, CEO of rAIma, addressed AI’s ethical implications in communication, while UBA’s Henry Nii Dottey contrasted traditional and digital PR tactics amid rising misinformation challenges.

Emma Wenani, GMA’s Chief Director, emphasized the masterclass aligned with their commitment to industry evolution: “As AI reshapes audience engagement, practitioners must leverage these tools responsibly.” WiPR’s Edinam Adjei Sika highlighted accessibility for women in PR, noting that mastering tech trends is critical for competitiveness. ALX Ghana’s Nana Darko Asiedu reinforced their mission to bridge Africa’s digital skills gap, calling the collaboration “vital for future-ready professionals.”

Attendees praised the practical focus, with academia-industry exchanges enriching discussions. Samsung-supported festival activities continue through July 18, featuring virtual crisis communication panels, an industry report launch, and mentorship sessions.
