The Ghana Police Service has called on the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and all participants of the “Enough is Enough” demonstration to adhere to the regulations governing protests.
In a statement released today, the Police emphasized the importance of following rules designed to prevent confusion, disorder, and traffic obstruction during the protest.
“Any person taking part in a special event shall conduct himself in such a manner as to avoid causing confusion, disorder, or the obstruction of traffic,” the statement read.
“The organizers have been informed of their duty to comply with all laws and will be held responsible for any breaches.”
The statement also outlined the approved demonstration routes and urged organizers and participants to respect these arrangements.
“We would like to urge the organizers and all participants in the demonstration to adhere to these arrangements and ensure full compliance with all laws and regulations,” the statement added.
The Police assured the public of their commitment to maintaining security, law, and order throughout the protest.
The NDC’s “Enough is Enough“ demonstration is to protest alleged inaccuracies in the Electoral Commission’s voter register for the 2024 elections.
The party claims the register is flawed and possibly manipulated to benefit a particular political party.
