Mumuni, a three-time African Champion in Para-cycling, would be competing in the “16-kilometre Individual Time Trial”, “72-kilometre Road Race” and the “One-kilometre and Four-kilometre Velodrome” events during the games, to be held from September 07, to September18.

He was the first Ghanaian cyclist to have competed in any Paralympian games, last four years, in London, but could not win any medal.

Mumuni said he was following a strict training regimen to win the nation her first medal in Para-cycling, and he appealed to corporate institutions to give him strong support to make that happen.
The Paralympian said he had prepared very well to keenly compete with everybody.

He called for massive investment in the Paralympics to unearth talents for the sport.
