MMT Bus sold as scrap

Communications Manager at the Metro Mass Transit, Eric Boadi,has confirmed to JOY News that the Metro Mass Buses procured by the nation in 2005 during the Kuffour led government has been sold as scrap to help generate revenue for the country.

The Metro Mass Transit company has assured that it has procured new buses to make up for the sold ones.

Reports have indicated that over fifty of the buses are currently parked in the yard of the uncompleted Greater Accra Regional Office of the National Health Insurance Scheme, near the Military Dog Training School on the N1 highway.

These buses will now be used as makeshift health posts in rural communities and also by the Police Service.
