Hearts of Oak say they will go to court to stop the GFA congress

Ghanaian giants Hearts of Oak have fired a warning at the Ghana Football Association (GFA) that they will head to the laws courts if the review committee does not restore their deducted points, a high ranking board member has warned.

The former GFA boss says the decision by the Appeals Committee of the GFA restoring Kotoko?s docked points will be met with the stiffest resistance if the Phobians are not handed the six points.

Dr. Nyaho Tamakloe says they will defy the GFA?s and FIFA laws of not sending football matters to court if a new decision is not made in their favour.

In a short but terse statement Tamakloe who is a former vice president of the GFA says they will not take the decision lying down if the points are not restored.

?Let me just sound one warning. If the decision of the review panel doesnt go in our favour we will go to the law courts,? Tamakloe told Asempa FM.

?The myth surrounding football matters not going to court has been broken at FIFA itself. We will go to court if the decision is not reversed.?

The GFA Appeals Committee restored the Porcupine Warriors? six points on Tuesday for supposedly fielding an unqualified player against Hearts of Oak.

The Appeals Committee decided to overturn the Disciplinary Committee ruling, dated September 1st, claiming that Kotoko attacker Obed Owusu had served his suspension in the Elite Cup game against Dunkwa United.

The fine of $5,000 handed to the Porcupine Warriors, for losing the case at the Disciplinary Committee level, has been vacated.

The latest decision means Kotoko will now finish the Premier League in second place behind champions AshantiGold SC with 48 points from 30 games while Hearts plummet to the 13th position with 40 points from 30 games.
