This year?s National Chocolate Day will be celebrated at the National Theatre in Accra on Friday, February 13.Chocolate

The day instituted by the Ghana Tourism Authority in collaboration with Cocoa Processing Company, Ghana Cocoa Board and Ghana Chef Association some eight years ago, is to create awareness on the need for Ghanaians to patronise cocoa products.

Mr Noah K. Amenyah, the Public Affairs Manager of Ghana Cocoa Board, said foreign chefs have been invited to showcase their various recipes using cocoa.

He said about 700 school children as well as cocoa-related organization had also been invited to the event which is on the theme ?Cocoa makes everything Better?.

Mr Amenyah said there would also be an exhibition of various recipes of cocoa products at the Accra Mall on February 14 where Ghanaians can enjoy and make their purchases.

The Public Affairs Manager said consuming of cocoa reduces blood pressure, delays physical signs of ageing, adding that it prevents stroke by improving blood circulation.

It also promotes nourishment/health of brain cells and it supplies many essential dietary minerals and also boosts sense of well- being.

He encouraged Ghanaians to consume more cocoa and generate more revenue for national development.

Mrs Elizabeth Ofosu-Agyare, Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts (MOTCCA) is the Special Guest of Honour.
