Beach Soccer in Ghana is on the rise

Ghana?s Beach Soccer team will play in the qualifiers for the 2013 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup in Tahiti.

The qualifiers which have been spread across the various continents will see the Ghanaians featuring prominently in the African qualifiers in the Moroccan city of El Jadida between May 22-26.

The Ghana FA has has played a major facilitating role in enhancing the prospect of Beach soccer in the West African country.

Luckily the players will be picked from National League which started last year and currently ongoing at the La Pleasure Beach Soccer field.

The players will be selected from teams such as Keta Sun Set, Ada Assurance, La Wuo Gbe, Layoca, Tegbei Youth, Havedzi, Nungua, Teshie, East Legon Sharks and Dansoman.

The rest include Chorkor Blue Whales, Gulf Powers, Senya Bereku Sharks, Winneba Giants, Golden Eagles, Nima, African Angels, Tema and Osu Dolphins.

The game has seen massive improvements under the able leadership of the President of the Association Yaw Ampofo Ankrah.
