The President of the Ghana Football Association, Kwesi Nyantakyi has bemoaned the decision of the headline sponsors of the Ghana Premier League, Capital Bank for suspending their sponsorship.

A few days fter the end of the 2014/15 league which was won by AshantiGold, the financial powerhouse who had entered into a 5-year contract to sponsor the GPL wrote to the FA suspending their sponsorship deal.

The bank cited restructuring as the reason for their decision but the federation President says the decision came as a blow to them.

In response to a questions as to what was his biggest worry in the year 2015, the CAF executive committee member said “My biggest worry was the league, after the season ends, the league sponsors wrote to us suspending the sponsorship and it was very worrisome because in the long way it will negatively affect the clubs,” he told Storm FM.

The Ghana FA Boss however did not reveal whether the federation accepted the reason for the suspension but only admitted that the news came as a blow to his outfit.
