German benchmark DAX index gains 73.31 points Thursday

The benchmark DAX index at Frankfurt Stock Exchange on Thursday gained 73.31 points or 0.61 percent and closed at 12,083.18 points, stayed above the 12,000 points mark.

German airline Lufthansa was the top winner among the blue chips by growing 5.24 percent, followed by Deutsche Post and Adidas by winning 2.07 percent and 1.92 percent respectively.

German multinational building materials company HeidelbergCement, German pharmaceutical company Merk and German global banking and financial services company Deutsche Bank were the three top losers, whose shares lost by 1.75 percent, 1.20 percent and 0.96 percent respectively.

Chemical group BASF was the most traded share with a turnover of 297.02 million euros (318.57 million U.S. dollars). Enditem
