Adama Barrow

Gambian President Adama Barrow has appointed Habib Saihou Drammeh as the new Interior minister with effect from Monday, the Office of the President announced on Monday.

“On Wednesday, 6th December 2017, President Barrow will swear-in Mr Drammeh to fully assume the functions of his office as required by Section 71(3) of the Constitution of the Republic of the Gambia, which empowers the President to appoint cabinet ministers,” a statement from the presidential office stated.

In November, President Adama Barrow relieved Mai Ahmad Fatty as Interior Minister without stating any reason. Fatty is the leader of Gambia Moral Congress which is among the eight political parties that formed coalition government last year. Enditem
