Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Ameachi has said members of the G-7 governors, a splinter group of governors of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), are still consulting to decide if they should join the opposition All Progressive Congress (APC).

The governor made the remark when he played host to members of the APC, who were in the state to woo him into their fold

Ameachi said he was happy with the visit of the APC but said he alone cannot take decision because the other members of the G-7 governors are involved.

Speaking on the crisis in the state, he said: “You have been hearing that we will remove him since 2007, Have I been removed? They talk as if they are God.

“I was told that I will be stoned at Okrika. That is the reason why I dance at Okrika. I raised my hand and the people screamed and I said God I thanked you.”

He accused his opponent led by Minister of Education, Wike as being corrupt.

“Those who are on the other side, the majority of them are corrupt. We shall reply them one after te other. They are desperate, we must stop them,” he said.

Speaking to the APC leaders, he said, “We have heard you and we are a group of seven governors. I will consult our leaders, I will consult the president, I will consult all and I will come back to you.”

The APC was led by General Mohammadu Buhari, former Lagos State governor, Ahmed Tinubu and National Chairman of the APC, Bisi Akande amongst others.
