lord's prayer blasphemous

France has been using the same version of the Lord?s Prayer since 1966, but a number of the country?s Catholic bishops have suddenly decided, ?Hey, that sounds kind of blasphemous.? (Yes, they?re calling their own translation of the Bible blasphemous.) Anyway, the line in question is their interpretation of ?lead us not into temptation.

? The existing version of that line translates to, ?Do not submit us to temptation,? which the bishops worry could be interpreted ?in a way that suggests God has the power to make people succumb to the temptation of sin,? according to Agence France-Presse. So after running this past the Vatican, they?ve changed the line to read ?Let us not enter into temptation? instead.  [Source]
