As part of the launch for Season four of its award winning television programme, HealthLine, telecommunication giant, Vodafone Ghana, has organised a free health screening for over 300 residents of James Town in the Greater Accra region.

Residents checked their blood pressure and sugar levels, and were also screened for Hypertension and Hepatitis B, among others. The medical doctors of the television programme were also around to offer free medical consultation to residents.

In an interview, one of the residents, Bernice Yayatunde, was grateful to Vodafone for coming into the area to particularly screening children. ?But for Vodafone, some of us would have never had the time or the money to go to the hospital for this check-up. I am particularly happy to see a lot of children here; they are our future leaders and need quality healthcare.? She added.

Chief Marketing Officer of Vodafone Ghana, Uche Ofodile, said Vodafone Ghana remains committed to quality healthcare delivery. ?We have several projects in the health sector because we want to empower Ghanaians about their health.?

The health screening in James Town, is just of the several activities the Vodafone Ghana will be undertaking as part of its Health Festival programme.
