Tamale Visit

Flashback: Blay and the executives during his recent campaign tour of Tamale

The Northern Regional Caucus of New Patriotic Party (NPP) Constituency Chairmen Association has unanimously endorsed the candidature of Mr. Freddie Blay, leading contender for the first Vice Chairman position of the party.

At an emergency meeting held in Tamale, the group assured Mr. Blay of their unflinching support, stating that he is the best among the rest for the job.

The decision, according to Adam Yussif, Tamale North Constituency Chairman and Organizer of the group, was earlier arrived at after they had profiled each of the aspirants under that category to assess their capabilities.

He disclosed to DAILY GUIDE that Mr. Blay, considering his wealth of knowledge in politics and experience in public service, would help bring on board the mechanisms required for the NPP to win power in 2016.

Mr. Yussif said their open endorsement was devoid of any form of inducement as claimed by campaign groups of other candidates, but a decision in the interest and betterment of the NPP.

?We are all interested in power and the man has what will bring us power,? he remarked.

The Tamale North Chairman eulogized Mr. Freddie Blay for   unveiling achievable plans for the party, indicating that the caucus would do itself a disservice if it failed to endorse him.

?He is the best man carved for the job and we must not disappoint our people,? Mr Adam Yussif appealed.

He urged other delegates to support the former 1st Deputy Speaker of Parliament whom he described as ?chief tactician? in the country?s politics.

Northern Regional Campaign Coordinator of Mr. Freddie Blay, Akilu Sayibu, commended the executives for taking a bold decision in announcing their preferred candidate.

He noted that the announcement was critical, considering the time left for the Congress, urging other delegates to come on board the winning team.

The declaration comes on the heels of similar disclosures of support in other parts of the country by executives who have always insisted that Mr. Freddie Blay has no match.

The former Elembelle legislator, since joining the race, has been a toast of many delegates, in view of his meritorious contributions to the growth of democracy in Ghana.

He has on several platforms disclosed that a leader with tactical ability is what is required of the NPP to achieve its 2016 agenda.

Mr. Blay, who describes himself as a consensus builder and a team player ? taking into account his wealth of experience in politics ? promises to be the soldier to fight for victory if elected to take up an executive position in the party.

According to him, there is the need for the party to move away from the conservative way of doing things and be more radical in its approach to certain issues on the political landscape.
