Francisca Oteng-Mensah, a second-year law student of KNUST will be contesting in the 2016 parliamentary race on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

The head of Department of Political Science at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Dr Richard Amoako Baah, has indicated that, 22-year-old Member of Parliament (MP) aspirant for Kwabre East constituency in the Ashanti region is ?too young? and inexperienced for the task.

Francisca Oteng-Mensah, a second-year law student of KNUST will be contesting in the 2016 parliamentary race on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) after she beat incumbent, Kofi Frempongby polling 321 votes as against his 202 in the party?s just ended parliamentary primaries.

Dr. Amoako Baah on Starr FM noted that the story would have been different if Ms. Oteng-Mensah had graduated.

?Look, there is nothing wrong with parents pushing their children ahead. Nothing wrong with it. But sometimes if you do it quickly and you are not careful it would mess them up.

?This one is not good. I?m telling you it?s not good. Young people should come in, she is too young and not experienced, and no money of her own. Her parents are sponsoring her. Is that how it?s supposed to be?? he wondered.

Meanwhile, Dr. Kwaku Oteng, father of Ms. Oteng-Mensah says his daughter is capable of leading the constituency.

?She is an intelligent young lady and can lead. The delegates genuinely liked her and her message was able to win it,? he stated.
