Orphanage

The Founder of My Help, Your Help Foundation, Nicholas Cofie is calling on the general public to support orphanage homes in the country with the little they have since most founders of orphanage homes are struggling with resources for the upkeep the children.

He said but for the intervention of selfless individuals who have dedicated their lives to rescuing abandoned children and orphans most of these children would have gone wayward.

Nicholas Cofie said this when his foundation donated items worth GHC20,000 to the Porters Village at Dodowa.

The group is made up of professionals such as bankers, teachers, doctors, lawyers, architects amongst others.

The donation was also backed with a health screening for all the children at the home and some residents in the community.

The health screening was conducted by doctors from Cocoa Clinic, Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, Ridge Hospital and the Koforidua Regional Hospital.

Receiving the items, the CEO and President of Potter’s Village, Mrs. Jane Irina Adu said the village currently caters for 144 children adding that one of their major challenges is getting sponsorship.

She expressed her profound gratitude to the foundation for the donation and health screening describing the health screening as the first of its kind.
