Accra, Jan 17, GNA – Alhaj Abdallah Ahmed, a former Brong-Ahafo Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has appealed to some leading members of the party to stop lobbying for positions.

?It is better if these people allow the President to make his choice and also bring their contributions to the government and the party towards 2016 election now?, he told the GNA in an interview.

Alhaji Ahmed said President Mahama had shown positive sign in his first list of ministerial nominations by making the right nominations to ensure the government achieved its Better Ghana Agenda chapter two.

He said the party should ensure that members of parliament who had reached age 60 and above should start grooming the young ones to take over from them in future and added that in some constituencies members of parliament and party executives make it impossible for the youth to make their contributions.

Alhaji Ahmed appealed to party supporters to rally behind the President and his ministers to deliver on the promises made to the people of Ghana.

He suggested to leading members of the party to form a committee to work voluntarily in monitoring the activities and actions of government appointees.
