The Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN), on Thursday disclosed that it has disbursed N38 billion loans to different contributors this year.

The Head, Corporate Affairs, Simeon Agada, revealed this while addressing journalist in Abuja adding that the loans were disbursed between January and August this year.

Agada put the cumulative collection of the bank in the first eight months of the year at N94.6 billion, from which it disbursed the loans.  

Hefurther noted that 71,409 beneficiaries from the National Housing Fund scheme refunded N1.5 billion as at August from the loans granted them.

He assured contributors that the bank was making efforts to address difficulties associated with accessing housing loan adding that those who were yet to access loan from the bank would be considered in due course.

?We have had various developments this year, especially the e-collection card that was introduced and issued to contributors to access their loan accounts easily.

?Also, we have launched so many housing projects this year, especially estates, and more are still on the way.

?We work in batches; so contributors who have not accessed loans should not lose hope. We are ready to assist many registered workers to get loans.? He noted.

The spokesman added that the bank has made provision for cooperatives to access housing loan under the Informal Sector Cooperative Housing Loan Scheme.
