After the opening two rounds, Fitidis leads the championship race with 135 points.

“I have competed in two rallies here (Uganda), and reached the podium twice. I finished second in the Mbarara race, last month, before clinching third position in Masaka this month.

“In general, I’m happy with my performances, especially that I am competing in the Ugandan championship on a Rwandan license,” he told Times Sport.

Having finished second behind Jas Mangat in Mbarara rally, Fitidis and his co-driver Eric Maxime Nzamwite in a Subaru N12, finished the Masaka event behind 2010 Ugandan national champion Nasser Mutebi, who won his first national event after a four-year jinx. Duncan Mubiru came second.
