The first ever Ghana local food festival, dubbed ‘Chow Ghana’ would be held here, organizers Just Fresh say.

A statement released here say the event is to showcase the culture of the country mainly through traditional food, performances and display of art, culture and dance.

The event, slated for June 10th to 11th, 2017 will be held at Venue Gh, located behind Tullow Oil at Dzorwulu, a suburb of Accra, the national capital.

‘Chow Ghana’ is envisioned to be a household event held annually to attract both locals and expatriates from all walks of life to come and have a feel of the first Ghanaian food festival.

Some 4000 people, event organizers say would be attending the program which has some mouth-watering activities including food forum, fashion shows, live cooking experiences, games as well as Afro-Jazz, cultural musicals/short drama (no words, but just music).

Among reasons cited for the putting the show together includes creating excitement in and around traditional food Ghanaians have grown up loving, encourage art and talent, promote the Ghanaian culture and bringing Ghana’s favorite local meals together.

The rest are to foster relationships, partnerships and creativity through food, create and encourage a bond with Ghana’s food brands, making them the people’s first choice, promoting made in Ghana products as well as promoting local and international tourism in the country.
