There has been serious clashes on the Public Accounts Committee of Parliament over the invitation ?extended to Alfred Agbesi Woyome by the Committee. Interestingly, the chairman of the Committee, has fired salvos at the First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Edward Doe Adjaho, for chastising him (Dapaah) for not following due process in ordering the arrest of businessman Alfred Woyome.

PAC has on two occassions invited Woyome before it but the later failed to do so on the grounds that the matter to be discussed is before a competent court of jurisdiction.

However, Hon. Kan-Dapaah served notice on Thursday, he will write to the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Paul Tawiah Quaye to drag businessman Alfred Agbesi Woyome to appear before it.

Mr. Woyome has declined on two occasions to honour the committee?s invitation to respond to questions about a GH?51.2 million judgment debt payment to him.

But to Hon Adjaho, the position taken by the PAC chairman is wrong and should have reported the issue to the Speaker of Parliament first, because the speaker is the only person that can order a person in that manner to appear before such a committee.

However, Hon Kan-Dapaah insists his colleague legislator got it all wrong and should not interfere with his work.

According to Kan-Dapaah he followed a process and hence he sees nothing wrong with what he has done in relation to the matter, stressing that?Mr. Doe Adjaho doesn?t help himself by commenting on issues that do not concern him.
