Team Fido Proudly Display The Six Awards Won At The Ghana Fintech Awards

Fido, Ghana’s artificial intelligence-powered digital lending platform, claimed six awards at the 5th Ghana Fintech Awards held on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at The Underbridge Annex in East Legon, Accra, including the night’s top honour, Fintech of the Year.

The haul makes Fido the most decorated company at this year’s ceremony, which was organised under the theme “From Awareness to Action: Building a Cyber-Secure Fintech Landscape in Ghana.”

The company swept five institutional categories. It won Fintech for Financial Inclusion, recognising its use of artificial intelligence (AI) and alternative data to extend credit to individuals and small businesses historically shut out of the formal financial system. Its savings product, EasySave, developed in partnership with Access Bank, claimed both the Fintech and Bank Partnership of the Year award and the Banking Innovative Product of the Year title. A separate partnership with ride-hailing platform Bolt to provide loans to drivers earned Fido the Fintech and Non-Bank Partnership of the Year award.

The sixth accolade was personal. Philip Twum, Fido’s Head of Business Development, was named Young Fintech Leader of the Year, one of the evening’s most competitive individual categories, which drew nine contestants.

Twum had a notable night beyond the award. He also represented the fintech side in a debate against traditional banking on the topic of Open Banking and Cyber Risk, a contest the press release described as convincingly won by the fintech team.

Speaking at the event, Twum said winning alongside a company-wide sweep, on the back of what was achieved in 2025 and supported by the public vote, was something the team would always be proud of.

Sebastian Quansah, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Fido Ghana, said the wins reflected the company’s commitment to putting financial tools in the hands of every Ghanaian, describing the recognition as both a validation and a responsibility to do more.

Fido’s 2025 included contributions to fintech policy development with the Bank of Ghana (BoG), among them input into the Directive for Digital Credit Service Providers and the Draft Open Banking Directive for Regulated Financial Institutions.

The Ghana Fintech Awards, now in its fifth year, is organised by Arkel Limited in partnership with the Ghana Fintech and Payments Association (GFPA), with KPMG serving as the official knowledge partner.
