Goalkeeper Fatawu Duada says his hardwork is responsible for his nomination as the Most Valuable Black Stars player.

The 26-year-old is competing for the prestigious accolade in the second edition of the National Players Award against Rabiu Mohammed and Mubarak Wakaso.

Dauda made the shortlist following his sterling performance at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.

And though humbled by the recognition given him through his nomination, AshantiGold shot-stopper believes his hardwork in recent times is beginning to pay off.

?I thank God and those who gave me the opportunity to make me what I am today,? he said.

?In life, if you work hard you get results and I believe my hard work is why I was nominated.?

Dauda kept three clean sheets while saving the Black Stars with unbelievable saves at the tournament staged in South Africa.

His exploits has shot him into the first choice goalkeeper for the Ghana national team ? dethroning Adam Kwarasey in the process.
