Renowned designer and B’Exotiq founder Beatrice ‘Bee’ Arthur has emerged as a leading voice in Ghana’s sustainable fashion movement, blending creative design with environmental activism.

The globetrotting entrepreneur, celebrating two decades in fashion, now spearheads upcycling initiatives that transform waste materials into high-concept art and apparel.

Arthur’s current exhibition, Echoes of the Landfill, at Accra’s Museum of Science and Technology until July 5, showcases provocative works crafted from discarded plastics and textiles.

As both Ghana Culture Forum’s Fashion Domain lead and Kuenyehia Art Prize juror, she highlights how waste pollution disproportionately impacts Ghanaian women, using fashion as a medium for eco-feminist advocacy. Her pioneering approach demonstrates how creative industries can drive environmental solutions while addressing gender inequalities in waste management systems.
