Ewurabena Aubynn is the newly elected Member of Parliament for Ablekuma North Constituency in the Greater Accra Region.

Running on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), she made history by ending the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) 28-year hold on the constituency in the 2024 general election.

She secured victory with 50.21 percent of the valid votes cast, narrowly defeating NPP’s Nana Akua Owusu Afriyie, who garnered 49.79 percent. The final tally showed Aubynn with 34,090 votes to her opponent’s 33,881—a margin of 209 votes.

Before her entry into Parliament, Ewurabena Aubynn was known for her philanthropic work. She founded the Awula Foundation in February 2023, a nonprofit organisation aimed at supporting vulnerable individuals and families in the Ablekuma North area. Her grassroots engagement and community service efforts played a key role in her electoral success.

Though publicly recognised for her political and charitable initiatives, Aubynn has kept many details of her personal life private. She is believed to have been born in the early 1970s, though her exact date and place of birth have not been officially disclosed. Information on her educational background, spouse, and children remains limited, though it is confirmed that she is a mother.

Aubynn’s estimated net worth is reported to be around US$1 million, primarily accrued through her political career and philanthropic work. Her rise reflects a growing trend of socially grounded individuals entering Ghana’s political space through constituency-driven activism and public service.

As a first-time legislator, she is expected to focus on local development, social equity, and inclusive policy-making in Parliament.
