wpid-Michael-Essien-001.jpgDidier Drogba’s Turks and Italian giants AC Milan have both approached the Blues about taking the midfielder on loan in the current window.

Michael Essien is a January loan target for Galatasary and AC Milan.

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho may block any move, as?the Blues?could potentially face them both in the Champions League’s knockout rounds.

Mourinho’s men WILL?face Turkish giants Galatasaray in the last 16?and could draw AC Milan later on if they get past the Istanbul side.

Midfielder Essien, 31, has had offers from both in this window – Chelsea are unlikely to let him join another English club.

Essien has found himself down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge and?this week’s ?21million arrival of Nemanja Matic?may further reduce his chances.

But it is a World Cup year and clubs believe they may be able to tempt Essien
with the promise of regular games to help him prepare for Ghana’s campaign
this summer.

Italians Napoli have also been linked with Essien, who spent last season on loan under Mourinho at Real Madrid, impressing and showing he can get back to his best.

If Chelsea did rubber-stamp a move to Galatasaray it would mean a reunion?with Didier Drogba, who was also part of Mourinho’s great success first time around at Stamford Bridge.
