Michael Essien to return for Ghana for September qualifiers

Ghana midfielder Michael Essien says he has regained the needed strength to make a strong return to the Black Stars.

The 30-year-old is expected to announce his return to the Ghana national team after his charity event this weekend.

Essien has been out of the Black Stars for a over a year ? owing his absence to career threatening injuries.

The 30-year-old has returned to Chelsea after impressing on a season?s-long loan spell at Spanish giants Real Madrid.

He is now expected to figure more prominently on his return to Stamford Bridge following the return of iconic Portuguese manager Jose Mourinho.

Essien asked to be excused from national team duty in order to sort out his injury and club situation.

With both secured, the powerful midfielder is now ready to resume serious action once more again.

?I have got my energy back and I feel I can do a job,? he said.

?It was important for me to play a lot at Madrid and prove my fitness.?

Essien is expected to feature for the Black Stars in their final 2014 World Cup Group D qualifier against Zambia in September.
