Some electorate at the Ayawaso East Constituency in the Greater Accra Region are experiencing the challenge of not finding their names and so they are being redirected to other centres to vote.

Some of the electorate who were not sure of their polling centres had to be redirected to the appropriate centres after being in long queues for hours.

The development has frustrated some of them, who said, they were contemplating whether to go home or pursue it to the directed centres to exercise their franchise.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency, Abdul Rahman Seidu, Fati Abdallah, Evans Ohene and Fati Hamidu, in separate interviews, expressed their frustrations.

However, they were calmed by the some Polling Officers.

Mr Anthony Bullah, the Presiding Officer at Polling Station A, stated that Voting, otherwise, started smoothly.

Mr Patrick Benyou, Presiding Officer at B, said it was unfortunate some electorate had to be redirected to different centres after being in the queue for long.

At the GNTC Polling Station, Mr Farouk Ibrahim, the Presiding Officer, said so far voting was going on smoothly without any violent incidence.

A visit by GNA to the Roman Catholic School Polling Station, Frankie’s Down Polling Station, Nuriya Islamic Polling Station, Nima Highway Polling Station and Old Alaska Cinema showed that voting started peacefully.

Ayawaso East has been divided into Kanda, Nima East and Nima West with total a polling stations of 87.
