The Electoral Commission (EC) has scheduled a nationwide voter exhibition exercise at all polling stations from August 20 to 27.
Dr. Bossman Asare, Deputy EC Chairman of Corporate Services, announced this during a press conference at the EC headquarters on August 19.
Dr Asare explained that the exercise aims to “remove mistakes from the voters register to ensure its credibility for the 2024 general elections.”
He emphasized that the primary goal is to help voters confirm their polling stations and ensure accurate details.
During the exhibition period, voters will have the opportunity to request various changes and corrections, including:
- Inclusion of omitted names
- Objection to names of unqualified voters
- Removal of names of deceased individuals
- Replacement of poor-quality or damaged voter ID cards
- Correction of spelling errors
- Amendments to incorrect registration details
Additionally, voters can verify their details using a short code, 71151#, which will be active during and beyond the exhibition period.
The EC underscored the importance of this exercise in rectifying errors and updating the voter register in preparation for the December 2024 elections.
