ppp 20[OMG!Ghana] We can confirm that the Progressive People?s Party has suspended its planned demonstration over the level of corruption in the country.

It has said that the Accra Police Command had expressed concern about the timing of the event.This comes up 24hrs after announcing their intentions.

National Chairman of the Progressive Peoples Party, Nii Allotey Brew-Hammond, explained the situation to Accra-based citi fm;

?We don?t believe that our right to demonstrate should be on hold, we wanted to have a peaceful demonstration to show that Ghanaians can be peaceful. But there is a fear that demonstration within this climate of the petition in court might inflame passion and run overboard.?

But if the police feel that they are not capable of ensuring our safety then we will abide by it.? he spurned.

The Greater Accra Regional Police PRO, DSP Freeman Tettey on his part told Citi News that the Service was not going to provide security for any group intending to demonstrate within this period.
