012 polls have gone and the way and manner voters conducted themselves, even in the wake of delays in arrival of voting materials and breakdown of verification machines.

Many of the citizens interviewed by Today news team expressed that Ghanaians have shown a ?great sense of respect for peace and maturity in the principles of democracy as it remains an icon of peace and democracy in the West African Sub-region.

The anxiety surrounding the emergence of violence is finally broken as majority of the electorate went to the polls, exercised their franchise and return to their various home peacefully awaiting results.

The fact that there were pockets of violence and misunderstanding due to the fact that there were some issues of late delivery of electoral materials, malfunction of some of the biometric verification machine cannot be overlooked.

Ghanaians are impressed and are proud of the way the whole process went and had these to say to this reporter.

ABRAHAM BOFFAH, AUTHOR AND CHARTED MARKETER

According to Mr. Abraham Bofah, an author and a chartered marketer, Ghanaians are peace-lovers and thus will do all they can to have peace no matter what it takes.

?And I must say that I am proud with the way we conducted ourselves in the Friday polls,? Mr. Bofah expressed.

Samuel A. Ashitey, a constituent in the Tema East constituency, had this to say: ?We are grateful to God and the entire country for how the election had gone so far.  We were scared but by God?s grace everything went on well. Ghana is God?s only land.?

BRIGHT LARM _ FOOTBALLER, TEMA

Bright Larm, a footballer resident in Tema, expressed: ?We prayed for peace and the Lord have granted it. Ghanaians have done well and must be applauded.?

In the view of Madam Esther Aboakye, who is a resident in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region, Ghanaians have demonstrated ?maturity and love for one another and it is my prayer that it continues in order that the blood shed by our forefathers will not be in vain.?

Mary Koomson, a resident in Cape Coast, applauded Ghanaians for they the electorate conducted.
