The Ekiti State University student allegedly caused his wife’s death during a brawl

The Ekiti Police Command has arrested a student of the Ekiti State University (EKSU), Danusa Jimoh, who allegedly caused his wife, Mope’s death

The Command Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Olu Babayemi, made this known while parading the suspect before journalists in Ado-Ekiti on Thursday.

He said that the incident occurred on July 3 at No. 1 Idemo Street, Are-Ekiti, where the suspect engaged the deceased  in a brawl.

During the fight, the deceased fell and hit her head against a hard object and died thereafter.

Babayemi added that the command was awaiting the autopsy report from the Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital, where the body of the deceased was deposited.

“We are awaiting the autopsy from the state hospital and he will be charged to court as soon as investigation is completed,” he said.

The suspect, while speaking, advised men never to beat or maltreat their wives.

“I wish I never argued or fought with my wife. If I had prevented this, I would not have been in this situation. I advise men never to beat or quarrel with their wives. My mistake should serve as a lesson to all,” he said.
