All is now set for the international summit of ?the?Eket Development Congress (EDC), USA, a Diaspora socio-cultural organization of Eket people of Akwa Ibom State.

A release jointly signed by the National President, Obong Chris Oduok, the National Secretory, Dr Victor Itauma and National Public Relation Officer, Mr. ?Victor Ekpuk indicates that the summit will feature a town hall discussion on the effect of leadership, accountability and good governance and how it affects the peaceful coexistence of Akwa Ibom people and other vital topical issues.
The ?release further indicates that the summit which is slated for?Thursday,15th August 2013?at the Marriott Wardman Hotel, Woodley Road, Washington DC, from?12 noonwith the theme, “Preparing Leadership ?for the Unity of Akwa Ibom People” would have Senator Etang Edet Umoyo who was a member of the third republic Senate in Nigeria?as guest speaker.
The summit will draw cream de la cream of Eket and friends from Europe, Nigeria, USA and other parts of the globe to brainstorm during the sessions.
Also, a?recent statement jointly issued by the event coordinator, Dr Sony Abia and Event Moderator, ?Prof. ?Felix Edoho, heartily ?welcomes guests and friends of Eket to the august gathering wishing them a memorable stay.
“We sincerely welcome you all to this all-important event and believe that your stay and contributions will be very?memorable” the statement said.
