Former Israeli Prime Minister wpid-DanHalutzEhudOlmert.jpgwas found guilty Monday of corruption charges, ones for which he had previously been acquitted.

The sentence will be pronounced at a later date for the 69 year-old, who last year was ordered to spend six years in prison after another corruption conviction.

Prosecutors in the latest case said Olmert had acquired hundreds of thousands of dollars from a Jewish American businessman while mayor of Jerusalem and minister of commerce in the 1990s and early 2000s. The money had been sent partly in cash in envelopes.

Olmert had been acquitted in the case in 2012, but the Supreme Court ordered a retrial after incriminating recordings of his conversations.

The various allegations of corruption against Olmert, who was premier from 2006 to 2009, led to his fall from office. He is not currently serving the six-year prison term from the first corruption case, as he is appealing the verdict.
