Hosni Abd-Rabou says Egypt?s golden generation has their last chance to appear at the World Cup

Egypt midfielder Hosni Abd-Rabou has stated the Pharaohs must grab their last opportunity to qualify for the 2014 World Cup or miss out forever.

The North Africans, six-timers winners of the AFCON, are eager to appear at the World Cup for the first time since 1990 ? 24 years but must eliminate Ghana ? a side seen as the second best on the African continent.

Egypt?s current squad are regarded as the golden generation but they have failed to make an appearance at the World Cup and Ismali midfielder Hosni Abd-Rabou feels this is the last chance to make their appearance at the World Cup.

?Winning the two matches against Ghana is the last chance for one of Egypt?s best ever football generations to appear in the World Cup,? the 28-year-old said.

Rabou who won the 2008 and 2010 AFCON titles with the Pharaohs insists they are not scared of the Ghana side.

?We are not scared by Ghana or the recent declarations of its coach. We will do our best to win the first leg in Kumasi,? he said.

The seven-time African champions, Egypt, are scheduled to host the Ghanaians at Cairo?s Air Defence stadium for the second half of the game on 19 November but FIFA has warned them to see to their home issues or face a venue shift.
